Automated Energy president to lead public power committee
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 7, 2020) – Automated Energy Inc. President Cody Graves has been selected to serve as chairman of the inaugural Corporate Council for the American Public Power Association (APPA).
“APPA is the leading voice for not-for-profit municipal utilities in the United States,” Graves said. “I have been involved with them for many years, but leading the Corporate Council will enable me to work with industry leaders to discuss public power issues like advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) that affect many municipal utilities across the country.”
The American Public Power Association is the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power 2,000 towns and cities nationwide. APPA represents public power before the federal government to protect the interests of the 49 million+ customers that public power utilities serve and the 93,000 people they employ.
Automated Energy, based in Oklahoma City, works with municipal utilities and commercial energy customers throughout the United States to create data-drive opportunities for customers to manage their energy consumption.
Graves is a former chairman of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, where he served from 1991 to 1997.
The APPA Corporate Council is a nationwide network of professionals with similar interests, experiences and goals. Council members leverage their experience in the public power industry as they exchange ideas and information with council peers to develop association resources.
Council members also offer their input on creating and improving Association offerings. Officers help the association carry out its mission. Their insights, experiences, skills and support are critical to the growth and success of public power and are greatly appreciated.
The first meeting of the Corporate Council will take place virtually in August.
