Cowlitz PUD customers manage energy use with real-time data

Partnership with Automated Energy extended for fourth year

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 17, 2020) – Oklahoma City-based Automated Energy Inc. has renewed its partnership with Public Utility District No. 1 of Cowlitz County, Wash., allowing the utility to provide its large customers with the tools to better manage energy usage.

Automated Energy works with municipal and public utility companies as well as commercial and industrial energy customers throughout the United States to create data-driven opportunities for customers to manage their energy consumption. In addition to data collection and management, Automated Energy has a suite of tools that allows customers and residential users to better understand their energy usage and cost.

Cowlitz PUD provides electric service to 48,200 residential, commercial, industrial and street lighting customers countywide. The district serves the cities of Castle Rock, Kalama, Kelso, Longview, Ryderwood, Silver Lake, Toutle and Woodland.

Automated Energy provides its industry-leading Load Profiler service to 30 Cowlitz PUD commercial customers, ranging from manufacturing, to wood products, industrial and ports.

“Load Profiler uses customers’ own meter data to provide analytics to manage energy consumption and costs,” said Automated Energy President Cody Graves. “It provides a real-time look at usage compared to previous periods and factors in environmental conditions in an easy-to-manage computer dashboard. It’s all about making informed energy decisions.”
