Cody L. Graves - President
Cody Graves is President of Automated Energy, Inc. (AEI), a leading information technology firm that provides business and industry with customized web-based energy information services. AEI is currently monitoring over 4,500 MW of electric consumption on a daily basis for businesses and utilities across North America.
Graves is a former Chairman of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, where he served as a member from August 1991 until June 1997. Since leaving the Commission, Graves has focused on the restructuring of the natural gas and electric utility industries. Besides helping to develop information solutions for the emerging competitive energy markets, Graves has advised consumer groups, utilities and legislatures across the country. Graves has testified before Congress advocating the restructuring of the electric utility industry, PURPA reform, The Royalty Simplification Act and incentives for the domestic oil and gas industry. His article on the regulation of natural gas gathering was published in the University of Tulsa Energy Law Journal. He has also written articles concerning various other energy issues for several national publications.
Graves has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for The Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets (CAEM), the Executive Committee of the National Energy Marketers Association, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners- Committee on Electricity, the Oklahoma Natural Gas Policy Commission, the Consumer Energy Council of America Electric Restructuring Forum and the Harvard Electricity Policy Group. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma.
Prior to his service on the Commission, Graves practiced law at the Oklahoma City law firm of Crowe & Dunlevy and worked nine years on the staff of United States Senator David L. Boren, where he served as Legislative Director and Legal Counsel.
Graves received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Oklahoma. While working on the staff of Senator Boren, Graves attended law school at Georgetown University, where he served as an editor on the law review.
Clifford R. Pelchat CEM, CEA, CVMP - Vice President
Cliff joined AEI in 2002 and is a Certified Energy Manager with over 25 years of experience in Elerctric and Gas metering and energy management. Prior to joining AEI, Cliff was Director of Operations for Enron Energy Information Solution, Inc. in Houston, Texas, he was responsible for all operations, including marketing, sales, product development, and professional services. He was responsible for the certification of Enron Energy Services Meter Data Management Acquisition System for the deregulated energy market, that facilitated EES's entry into unbundled energy information services.
For 15 years prior, he held various positions with Public Service Electric and Gas Co. (PSE&G) in New Jersey. Including Principal Staff Engineer responsible for Industrial and Commercial Gas metering, and managing the design and implementation of one of the first large scale electric and gas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems. He is a past member of the New York State Measurement Committee, the American Gas Association, the New Jersey Gas Association, and past Chairman of the Electronics In Measurement section for the Appalachian Short Course at Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, PA. He has written and presented a number of energy technical papers. Leaving PSE&G in 1989, he joined Metretek, Inc., As Director of Customer Services, where he developed a services and information business built around meter reading systems.
Cliff holds a BS degree from the University Of Central Oklahoma and an AS degree from Ocean County College in New Jersey. He is a member of the Association Of Energy Engineers, Vice President of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers and an Associate member of Sigma Xi the Scientific Research Association.
Erick Rheam - Vice President - Business Development
Erick is Sales Manager for Automated Energy, Inc., a leading provider of web-based energy information services in North America. He is responsible for business development primarily in the public utility industry.
Prior to joining Automated Energy, Erick worked for Loveland Water & Power in Loveland, Colorado. He started as Key Account Manager in 2002, but his responsibilities were quickly expanded as he led the Customer Relations Division as the Customer Relations Manager where he managed the Industrial Pretreatment, Key Accounts, Mid-Market, Conservation, and Marketing Programs for Loveland Water & Power.
Erick has been active in the public power industry where he received his Account Executive Certification through the American Public Power Association (APPA). He also served as the vice-chair and then chair for the national Key Accounts Committee for APPA. In 2008, he served as the vice-chair for the Customer Services Section for APPA where he worked with the committee chairs for Key Accounts, Energy Services, Customer Services, and Public Communications Committees to plan APPA's national Customer Connections Conferences. He was involved in planning the San Antonio (2006), Seattle (2007), and Nashville (2008) Customer Connections conferences for APPA.
Erick started his career in public power in 2000 as the first Key Accounts Coordinator for Anderson Light & Power in Anderson, Indiana, where he started their
Key Accounts Program.
Erick graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army in Bosnia Herzegovina and Europe until 2000 when he was honorably discharged from service as a Captain and began his career in the utility industry.
Erick currently resides in Indiana with his wife, three children, and Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Cheyenne.
